Dave was probably one of the Kindest, least ego centric people I have ever had the fortune to know. We worked together for ten years but I got to know him better when we worked long hours on several crazy projects together, begging the poor caretaker to keep the school open just that bit longer so we could get on top of things. Dave was a great listener and an enormous source of support to many. He thrived in the classroom and loved being around the students. He was in his element when he could put on his practical problem solving hat-although once this consisted of solving a staffing crisis by collapsing classes and putting on ‘Where Eagles dare’ in the hall... I cannot describe what a loss Dave’s passing is. I will be keeping him in my heart and raising a whisky to him Often.
