Out of the many warm memories that we have been sharing, there is one that resonates as the festive season approaches. For several years, just before Christmas, we would receive a call from Tarita saying that she and Dave were embarking on their annual pre- Christmas round of visits to friends, and asking could they call in. They would later arrive laden with brightly wrapped gifts, and sometimes even a home-cooked Christmas cake. Dave would be looking very dashing and handsome in his stylish black leather flying jacket. His jovial manner and beaming smile always conveyed how much he and Tarita were looking forward to celebrating together. Their obvious commitment to spreading good cheer to other tired teachers made us feel Christmassy too... Dave was able to leave us with a warm glow of anticipation for the forthcoming festivities. We will miss him greatly.
